Tolk Overview: Xcel Energy's Tolk station, an 1,100 MW coal-fired plant located in Muleshoe Texas, is in a CAIR state and an area that has been expanding its renewable energy (wind) footprint. NeuCo's boiler optimization software has helped the plant reduce its emissions, manage the shift from baseload to load-following in response to intermittent wind power, and more tightly control and balance its furnace-to-steam circuit operations.
