Position: Performance Engineer

Department: Customer Support

This positon is located in our Chardon, Ohio office. 

NeuCo, Inc. provides optimization software solutions that help electric power plants reduce emissions and improve operating efficiency and reliability. NeuCo is the industry's leading provider of combustion optimization systems, which use an advanced form of artificial intelligence technology known as neural networks to reduce NOx emissions and improve fuel efficiency by streamlining the combustion process within the plant's boiler. Other software products in NeuCo's ProcessLink® suite are designed to improve operating efficiency, capacity, reliability and ultimately the profitability of power generation fleets.

NeuCo is actively seeking experienced engineers to join our growing Boston-based team to lead projects and work with NeuCo's customer base within the power industry. The overall objectives for the position are to work with the Applications Team to execute high quality projects and maintain customer satisfaction (please note: these are engineering, not software development projects).  We believe our people are our biggest asset. FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver solutions within the scope of Maintenance Agreements
• Participate in the establishment of technical objectives, work plans and schedules for projects
• Interface with third-party vendors for key tasks in the project plan
• Deploy neural network solutions for the customer
• Conduct benefits analysis after deployment
• Provide operator/engineer training on the use of the system
• Create software documentation (User Manual/User Guide)
• Meet project deadlines and ensure quality
• Issue regular progress reports to project team
• Maintain regular customer contact and manage customer expectations
• Provide customer support
• Some travel required
• Other work as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• BS (ME, EE or ChE) Advanced degrees a plus
• Up to 5 years experience
• Customer service experience a plus but not needed, will train
• Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with computer hardware & Windows-based software
• Experience with modeling industrial systems
• Experience with industrial process control systems
• Experience with data historians (PI, InSQL, others)
• Experience with applying neural networks to industrial processes
• Experience with instrumentation & control systems (e.g. Bailey, Westinghouse, Foxboro)
• Operating experience in power plants
• Microsoft Office
