NeuCo Power Plant Optimization Tours

NeuCo has developed a "Plant Optimization Tour” program to showcase its optimization solutions in action at a variety of generating units across the United States. A supplement to our annual Users Summits, these tours enable NeuCo customers and others interested in optimization technology to visit plants with different boiler types, operational challenges, product mixes and benefits every two to three months. They highlight how users benefit from NeuCo products and spread best practices among the NeuCo User Group. 

Past Plant Optimization Tour Sites:

• AmerenUE Meramec, St. Louis, MI
• Xcel Tolk Generating Station, Lubbock, TX

Both Ameren & Tolk focused on their use of NeuCo’s BoilerOpt™ (CombustionOpt and SootOpt).  Over the course of two days, each plant presented on their project’s background, implementation procedures and benefits achieved to date.  Technical discussions were initiated by the NeuCo staff on how CombustionOpt and SootOpt work at each site and how the optimizers were supported and analyzed.  All attendees participated in a plant tour & visit to the control room, on Day 2.

We’ve recently surveyed our customer base to get their opinions on where our next plant tour should be held.  Results have been compiled and due to the strong demand and variety of responses, we have decided to host two tours this Fall; one in the Southwest and one in the Midwest.
